Summer took over from the Spring blossom and the fields slowly turned green and our trees turned their lovely fresh green.
Families, get togethers, picnics, fun on the play equipment, being out again in the Park gives you the pleasure of space and fresh air and being with nature which does you so much good.
The Dinosaur , Jungle Gym and other fun things are there waiting for the children.
We heard through a post on social media of a couple being being held up at gun point for the jewellery the lady was wearing but details are sketchy.
I met the ADT car supervisor who gave the guards two dedicated numbers to dial for instant response. Thank you ADT. Council provides them with NO equipment and no backup.
FOFS has given them pepper sprays. They have their phones.
A further informal meeting with both Security Companies – ADT and 24/7 and surrounding residents was held with a representative of the CPF who advised us that other areas have the same problems of crime, we were lucky it was not violent crime and that with Sandton Police Station having only two cars we should take more responsibility for our own safety, – eg. don’t wear jewellery walking in the Park, beef up your home security and be aware.
The Security cars of both are in and out of the Park at various times during the day as back up for the guards so come and enjoy our beautiful green Park, and relax and enjoy being away from it all under the trees.
